U9, U11, and U13 Modified Rules

To all U9 and U11 Coaches:

Following Canada Soccer's Grassroots Initiative to standardize play across Canada and EMSA's policy to adopt the new U9 and U11 rules, we will be following these modified rules for the tournament.

The U9 and U11 modified rules can be found HERE will be used for the tournament (except for half times, those follow what is listed in the tournament rules). Highlights from these rules include:

  • No offsides
  • No YC/RC
  • Dribble ins/Kick ins for throw ins and all restarts except penalty kicks (U11 only)

To all U13 Coaches:

Canada Soccer's Grassroots Initiative also involves changing U13 to 9v9 on small fields. We will be adopting these changes for the tournament. Please find the U13 modified rules HERE.
